DEC.10th ART WALK!!

The rain managed to subside for most of the evening, making Artwalk another huge success! The crowd was a little thinner than last month, probably because of the cold and threat of rain, but those who did come out were rewarded with the amazing art of Gareth Stehr!! So many people stopped by just because they new he was going to be there alone. His art and imagery marries skate punk aesthetic with pop art sensibilities. Five new pieces he made for our show were striking and macabre, and people were mesmerized. Gareth’s show will be up throughout December and into the early part of January. The people that braved the cold, were so wonderful and really seemed to enjoy the art as well as the store. So many people gushed about sofa’s and chairs, it really made us very happy and proud. A few lucky people walked away with some small accessories and many more are coming back to see us later in the week. Overall a very successful event where we think we connected with a lot of wonderful people, both downtown neighbors and suburbanites alike.

DID SOMEONE SAY XMAS!!??

Xmas window is up!!! We will be posting pics on our Facebook page, if your not already a fan become one now. We update everyone on our events, new products and we are going to be doing special sales for Facebook fans only so it pays to follow us! The window we decided was indeed a mix of traditional with a twist. The twist being our colors of black, silver and hot pink!!! I think we kept things tasteful and minimal which is the (Sub)Urban way- anything else just wouldn’t have been us.

I have to say, being downtown for the holidays really is a joy. There are so many people who keep coming by to visit and it is starting to feel like Xmas for sure. We are going to try to get a few more gift-y things before Xmas like some candle sets, maybe a few more books, and some small décor stuff that is affordable and ADORABLE! We also anticipate some new skulls too…. Keep checking Facebook for information on when they are finally available. For any design buff on your list, you really should check us out!
